Accessibility statement

Healthy Streets seeks to provide a website that can be used by the widest possible audience. We develop the site with this in mind, and are actively asking for feedback on how we can continue to improve it.

This website has been designed and developed by Ten4 Design to enable Healthy Streets to share tools and information. It is hereafter referred to as “the website”. This accessibility statement applies to this website only.

Measures to support accessibility

We aim to make the website accessible to the widest possible audience. This means, for example, you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your device settings.
  • Zoom in up to 300% without compromising text or images.
  • Navigate the website using just a keyboard.
  • Navigate the website using speech recognition software.
  • Listen to the website using a screen reader.
  • Watch all narrative videos with closed captions.

We have tried to make the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Visit AbilityNet for advice on making your device easier to use if you have specific requirements.

Conformance status

We believe the website is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, AA standard.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the website, there are some limitations.

The content listed below is known to have limited accessibility. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

  • Location Maps — We have tried to make the location maps fully keyboard accessible and ensure all markers have alt text. However we recognise that some users with visual impairments might have issues using them as they are a visual tool.
  • Alt text — While we have made every effort to provide good alt text for all images used on the site, we are aware that some alt text contains missing or extraneous information; we are working to resolve the issue.
  • Timer clock – A timer clock is shown on two questions. This is a visual aid and not essential for using the website. However it might not be usable for those with visual impairments as it does not currently have audio fallback.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared in July 2024. The website was tested for compliance against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines V2.2 level A and AA using a combination of automated tools and manual checks.
